Police and emergency services attended the scene of a serious crash at Bulgunnia in the Far North early Tuesday morning following a collision between a road train and a vehicle on the Stuart Highway.
SA Police reported the crash occurred at about 12.30am on Tuesday, 26 May, approximately 100 kilometres north of Glendambo. Major Crash investigators were sent to the scene to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.
The Stuart Highway was initially closed in both directions, with northbound motorists advised to stop at Glendambo and southbound traffic halted at Coober Pedy.
One lane of the highway was re-opened at around 11.50am to allow traffic to begin moving through the area under traffic management. Reports now indicate both lanes have since been fully reopened.
The condition of those involved has not yet been officially released.
Motorists travelling through the region are urged to drive with care and remain alert for emergency services and any remaining traffic restrictions.
