Police have arrested two Coober Pedy teenagers over a series of vehicle break-ins at a local motel, with further arrests expected as the investigation continues.

Several vehicles parked at a motel on Crowders Gully Road were targeted between 3am and 3.15am on Friday, 25 September.

Police allege windows were smashed to gain entry to the vehicles and that cash and a number of personal belongings were stolen.

As part of the investigation, officers searched a Coober Pedy home on Wednesday, 30 September, where they allegedly located a drone stolen during one of the break-ins.

Two Coober Pedy boys, aged 14 and 15, were subsequently arrested and charged with six counts each of illegal interference with a motor vehicle and theft.

Both teenagers were granted bail and are due to appear in the Coober Pedy Youth Court on 2 December.

The charges are allegations and have not yet been proven in court.

Police say their investigation is continuing and further arrests are expected.
