A renewed multi-agency search will begin tomorrow for missing man Benjamin, almost a year after his abandoned vehicle was found in scrub near Wirraminna.

Missing Persons Investigation Section officers will coordinate the search from Tuesday, 15 September, supported by the Mounted Operations Unit, State Emergency Service volunteers, uniformed police, detectives and specialist aerial and ground-search resources.

Benjamin, 40, was last seen on the Stuart Highway south of Glendambo during the afternoon of Friday, 26 September 2025.

Police continue to hold grave concerns for his welfare and safety.

The blue 2006 Hyundai Getz he had been driving was found abandoned the following day in scrub approximately 10 kilometres from the Stuart Highway near Wirraminna. The vehicle carried Western Australian registration plates 1IGG659.

Extensive searches were conducted following Benjamin’s disappearance, involving local police, PolAir, drones, SES volunteers and local trackers. Despite the significant ground and aerial effort, no trace of him was found.

Police have since reviewed the original operation and identified several additional areas requiring further searches.

The renewed operation is expected to continue throughout the week. Members of the public may notice an increased police and emergency-services presence around Woomera and Wirraminna while the search is underway.

Benjamin is described as approximately 180 centimetres tall and of medium build, with brown eyes and dark brown hair worn in a mullet style.
